The safest place you can be is in Gods will right…?
I’ve heard it said many times the safest place you can be is in God’s will, I am here to disagree with this statement…while I am sure many of you are thinking “how will she back this one up?” Let’s just first start by taking a look at some people in the Bible who were in His will but not safe.
Jesus…. it was Gods will for him to enter the world and it was also Gods will for Him to leave it. Beaten and hung on a cross to die.
The disciples…… mocked, beaten, thrown in jail, hung, stoned, and killed for being in Gods will and doing what He commanded them to do, preach the gospel and make disciples.
Steven….. stoned to death for being a follower and even as he was being stoned with some of his final breaths on earth he managed to mutter the words “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” God loves people Steven loved people, He was in Gods will but stoned because of it.
Paul…. he was originally Saul who killed Christians but once God got a hold of him and he got a name change and a life change. He began to move radically to preach the gospel and give messages of grace and forgiveness. While in Gods will he was doubted, beaten, and imprisoned.
From the twelve disciples to the disciples of 2013 we could read story after story of people who were in Gods will but not safe.
So why write a blog about this? I guess after reading the risks I am willing to take during the 9 months I am going to do what God wants me to do,
The risks for me go something like this..
“I am aware of the potential hazards and risks to my body and property associated with serving in a missions capacity, such hazards and risks including, but not being limited to, injury or death by accident, disease, war, terrorists acts, weather conditions, inadequate medical services and supplies, criminal activity, and random acts of violence.”
Safe? No.
In Gods will? Yes.
The risks of being in Gods will are HUGE, but worth it.
Because HE IS WORTH IT.
In Christ,
Cayla
