I have officially experienced my first Christmas away from home and I survived just fine. This is a look inside of some of the fun things that happened Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
Christmas eve for dinner we got pizza from pizza hut!
We popped popcorn and the kids spent the rest of the night watching movies, I was able to watch Elf with the boys.
While the kids were occupied watching movies, we placed stockings on chairs, hung some lights, blew up balloons, covered the floor and walls in snowflakes, and of the room wouldn't be complete without a "Happy Birthday Jesus" sign.
After all was said and done I think most of us got between 2-3 hours of sleep if not less than that.
Christmas morning at seven the kids opened their stockings, presents, and had pancakes for breakfast.
After my team and I's Christmas with the kids was over, we got to spend the remainder of Christmas with our squad we played white elephant, hung out, and ate a pretty amazing Christmas dinner.
Although Christmas this year was different from what I have experienced in the past it was one I will never forget. I'm thankful for the kids, my team, and my squad who I got to spend this Christmas with!
In Christ,
Cayla
